It would surely be impossible to learn about every aspect of every major
distribution, but how many dists dont have ifconfig? If you are referring to
the various setup gui's different dists have (i.e. netconfig in slack) then
i think the aim of the LPI is to train people how to do this at a much lower
level and make use of distribution-wide tools such as ifconfig.

The one thing I dont understand is why BIND-4 is included in 102 - how often
are the objectives updated? To my knowledge they were last updated about a
year ago and how many people were running BIND-4 a year ago?
