Just remember the Linux claims are just a smokescreen, and
they weren't formalized until 2 months after the original
filing.  Before the change in the May 2003 additions, SCO
only had made claims regarding IBM violating it's non-compete
agreement in March 2003 (in addition to breaking other
contracts).

SCO has gone on record that it considers BSD just as much as
an illegal UNIX flavor, but it wasn't large enough of a
target at that time.

This is regardless of the fact that all modern, Freedomware
BSD releases are based on 4.4BSDLite, which was legally
agreed (by UCB and USL) to be the copyright/ownership of UCB
in the 1993 settlement.
