Well, in one tiny thread we managed to touch on a bunch of different raw 
nerves:

- The inclusion of binary-only drivers within a supposedly open source 
system
- The role of marketing in the progress of open source into the IT 
mainstream
- The associated desire to occasionally be concerned with style over 
substance

As the open source world gets more businesslike and less geeky, one 
could argue that there isn't as much to get passionate about anymore. So 
when the opportunities do arise, they get pounced on. :-)
