LPI-Brazil and 4Linux celebrate 7 years of LPI exams

(Sacramento, CA, USA: December 3, 2009) The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization
(http://www.lpi.org), announced a special exam lab on December 5, 2009
in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Congresso Internacional de Software Livre
(http://www.conisli.org.br). The exam lab is expected to attract over
130 people and will include a presentation by long time LPI supporter
and President of Linux International, Jon "maddog" Hall.

"We congratulate our partners in Brazil on this achievement. We would
also like to note the efforts of LPI training partner, 4Linux, who
offered Brazil's first LPI exam lab seven years ago," said Jim Lacey,
president and CEO of LPI.

"LPI has been key to business adoption of Linux and Free Software in
Brazil as it has ensured an available supply of globally-recognized and
accredited Linux professionals," said Rodolfo Gobbi, CEO of 4Linux
(http://www.4linux.com.br). "We plan to have more than 130 people
registered for this exam lab--one of the largest every held in
Brazil--and we are also pleased to have the participation of Jon
"maddog" Hall. "maddog" is very well respected within the Linux
community in Brazil and he participated in our first exam lab seven
years ago," Gobbi added.

"LPI certification is ideal for aspiring IT professionals as it allows
them to study and learn Linux by a variety of means: through training
courses, by book or videos, or even by just practicing with the
operating system. LPI certification is an excellent means by which IT
professionals can demonstrate their Linux knowledge," said Jon "maddog"

The Linux Professional Institute is globally supported by the IT
industry, enterprise customers, community professionals, government
entities and the educational community. LPI's certification program is
supported by an affiliate network spanning five continents and is
distributed worldwide in multiple languages in more than 7,000 testing
locations. Since 1999, LPI has delivered over 225,000 exams and close to
70,000 LPIC certifications around the world.
